Really! I’m actually enjoying watching the new season like I’ve never enjoyed TG USA ever before... Quite surprising!

My only real complaint is the commercial breaks that completely kill the moment, and that’s not even their fault.

The Rubicon challenge was great simply because the danger was real, not some staged crash.

It’s been good since they stopped trying to make a carbon copy of the UK show. That said it’s been getting super predictable lately. The first 3 challenges are pointless because it always ends in a three way draw and then there will be a challenge dependant on driving skill which of course Tanner will win with ease.

Yeah, it could go either way, depending on how much is true of the rumours of Evans being such a jackass. I do really like the idea of having a few semi-pro racing drivers / car reviewers, with Sabine Schmitz and Chris Harris though.

Yeah that’s annoying indeed... But as you said, now that they’ve stopped trying to copy TGUK, well, it feels like watching original content and not something I’ve already watched way too many times :)

I hated it at first when they tried to mimic the UK show with studio segments. I’m not sure at which point they changed over to full-episode challenges, but this made the show much better.

I like it. Any show that fucks with cars is gonna be fun to watch.

Tho I don’t like the clearly setup situations then they pretend to act all surprised.. Kinda cheesy.

But like I said they fuck cars up and it’s fun to watch.

It's been good since season 3 or 4. Started out by aping TGUK and it didn't work. Once they switched to just doing a challenge or road trip for the whole episode I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

I agree about the commercials. It’s not even that they kill the moment, but they have to do a ‘coming up’ and ‘recap’ at each one. It gets annoying, but we really can't blame them for it

I’ve liked it from the get go, but it has gotten better each season. They’re really hitting their stride now. Anybody who says they have no chemistry, clearly didn't watch past the first season, or even the first few episodes.

YES! The first 2 seasons sucked, but 3 and on I’ve loved! My only gripe is Tanner throws a tantrum and bends the rules, or when one forfeits a challenge. I’ve never seen the [old] UK guys forfeit a challenge, they went through with it, even if it meant certain death. That said, I’ll watch and continue watching, especially now that I have cable.

Yeah, I now mute and look away when Adam says, “coming up...” because they ALWAYS spoil the most exciting part with a 3 second clip of one of them crashing/drifting/spinning/etc.

Latest episode is S06e02 and is the USA vs Europe with the Porsche 944, Alfa Spider and XJS V12 shown on the same day as the rubbicon trail episode.

Most of my usual torrent sites aren’t showing any Top Gear USA, apparently they got cleaned out. I was calling it season eight because I found the episodes on the History Channel website and they’re calling it season eight. Watched the Rubicon episode through the site last night, but to watch the other one I need to provide cable subscription info.
